Karen Schneid, wife to David, mom of Saffron and Scarlett and founder of Ooh La La Confectionery! Ooh La La outgrew her family kitchen, and they moved to a factory designed by her husband on her farm style property.

Ooh La La is proud to have won numerous awards: they were voted best confectionery for Eat Out magazine and have won numerous awards from the Great Taste Awards in Britain, known as the Oscars of the food industry.

The calisson, a French almond delicacy, originates from the village of Aix en Provence.

Ooh La La has created its award winning calisson using homemade candied melon (using the most fragrant South African melons), homemade candied orange peel and finely ground almonds. This delectable mixture is set atop edible rice paper and then exquisitely finished off with a royal icing glaze.
