FROZEN: Shakshuka Sauce
Shakshuka originates from Tunisia, but is eaten throughout North Africa and the Middle East.
Shakshuka is a one-pan-wonder dish made of eggs poached in Flava’s spicy tomato, chilli and pepper sauce, aromatically spiced with cumin.
Recipe ideas
Traditional Shakshuka (with eggs) – a one pan wonder
Simply defrost the Flava Shakshuka sauce and pop it into a large pan. Heat to a simmer and crack in a couple of eggs. Allow them to slowly poach and take on the flavour of the sauce. If you have a lid for the pan, cover and cook slowly for 2-3 minutes.
To add real creaminess, add a quarter cup of (double cream) yoghurt when the Shakshuka is warm and just before adding the eggs
Pita and Shakshuka:
Generously spread the inside of a pita with hummus. Add 2 tablespoons of Flava Shakshuka sauce and garnish with chopped tomato and coriander for garnish.
Close it up and eat with your hands. Enjoy!
